This wine closet is unassuming from the outside, but it is anything but boring within! This homeowner wanted to display his best bottles in a big way. The wine cellar builders / design build team at Vintage Cellars worked closely with him to ensure that his vision became a reality. This custom wine cellar is so unassuming from the outside, you could almost miss it. A small windowed door lets you in, and once inside - the wine racks take you somewhere magical. Poplar with a dark custom stain was utilized to create the sleek and modern look, even though these wine racks are made of wood. White walls behind and a clean and natural wood floor make the wine racks really pop. Beginning at the top of the wine room, individual wine bottle storage sweeps across for bottles needing that extra aging time, not to be touched for years. Directly below sits multiple layers of space for high reveal angled display. Wine bottles are angled visibility as well as maintaining wet corks for proper storage. Mixed in here are coved trays for large format wine bottle display. These coved trays are designed and built for featuring large wine bottles horizontally. Having these adds to a unique and eye catching layout, keeping the wine cellar looking clean and interesting. Directly underneath lies another section for individual bottle storage, as well as room to store original wood cases. The cooling unit in this wine cellar / wine room / wine closet / custom wine room / custom wine cellar / custom wine closet / wine storage space is ducted in through the ceiling. The custom wine racks designed for a Boston home consists of horizontal displays, X cubes, wooden case openings, display rows, and diamond bin storage racks. The total capacity of this home wine cellar is 1,769 bottles. The wine racks were manufactured from Malaysian Mahogany. We applied Chappo stain and clear coat lacquer for a richer look. This wine cellar project actually consists of two separate rooms: a refrigerated wine cellar and a stunning wine tasting room. This gorgeous Turramurra kitchen displays the best of both modern and traditional features. It exhibits the warmth, character and grandeur of a traditional kitchen whilst maintaining all the trappings of modern kitchens. When Art of Kitchens were commissioned to design and build this kitchen, the home was yet unbuilt making it important that our kitchen design closely adhered to the Traditional/Modern style of the proposed home. “We needed to work with the idea of what the complete project would look like rather than using the existing frame for inspiration,” said Kitchen Designer David Bartlett. Keen entertainers, the homeowners wanted a kitchen that could be filled with family and friends without the space feeling overcrowded. Featuring multiple working zones, a large scullery for preparation and cleanup, high ceilings and overlooking a tranquil alfresco area, this large kitchen works perfectly for large groups. The high ceilings created a sense of airiness and allowed for ample storage space with tall cabinets. The addition of open shelving and breakfast bar resulted in a stunning open plan, functional kitchen that is perfect for entertaining that ties well into the overall aesthetic for the home. The end result was a runner up in the 2017 HIA CSR NSW Kitchen awards.

River Oaks, 2014 - Remodel and Additions

A traditional wine cellar built in the basement storage area. High volume storage with a touch of display was the focus of the room. This beautifully rustic and modern custom wine cellar in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California is inside one of your favorite A-List Celebrity's home. The design of the cellar was centered around a large amount of bottle storage with minimal wine displays. This unique space also has room for wine case storage, as well as horizontal display on top of high reveal display. Prior to proper vapor barrier and insulation being installed into the room, this space was a simple basement storage area. The entire room was gutted, and stripped down to the studs. A 6mm plastic was placed covering every wall and crevice to ensure that the room would be sealed completely. Spray foam insulation was applied three inches thick around, followed by green board mold resistant drywall. The racking is made of all heart redwood - a fantastic choice for a custom wine room such as this. Redwood is great to use because of its ability to resist rot and mold, as well as looking great (or even better) as the wood cures over time. The large wine cellar has room for unique large format bottles, as well as special champagne bottle display. It was a pleasure working on this project - the owner is a great guy (and host too) and we look forward to working together again. The client has just bought a beautiful old summer house in one of the most fantastic places in the Swedish archipelago. When he was about to start a complete rennovation of the house, he also wanted to build a wine cellar to store the wine he had otherwise stored elsewhere. The wine cellar had to be a safe base for the wine and he had to be able to monitor the wine’s climate, humidity and cooling online. That’s why we installed cooling through our Inoa air conditioner from French Eurocave and 2 separate wine monitor sets to keep full control of the environment.
