The greatest challenge that we faced on this project was marrying the divergent tastes of the homeowners; one loves mid-century modern while the other favors a bit of sparkle. We used the clients' existing modern classic Bertoia chairs and paired them with a traditional crystal chandelier in the dining area to add glamour. The white kitchen and inky glass back splash tiles inspired the selection of this outstanding white linen drapery fabric with an embroidered indigo medallion by Telafina. Grand Prize Winner of the 2012 Crystal Cabinet Design Awards! A fire in the laundry room of this home left the kitchen with a lot of soot damage from the fire and even more water damage from the sprinkler system. The homeowners had to see it as an opportunity to redesign their kitchen to create the kitchen they really wanted. They’d been dreaming of a “classic” look that wouldn’t age. After eliminating a triangular bump into the back wall of the kitchen, the space has a much more open feeling. The traffic is able to flow better from the kitchen to the eating area and around two large islands. The hood became a great focal point of the kitchen and houses extra workspace, which allows for easy preparation of every day meals as well as food for entertaining. We were able to achieve a unique, customized look by mimicking a door style the homeowner had once fallen in love with and using it in an inset application. With paint grade material and a Frosty White finish paired with black granite and white subway tile, the kitchen is timeless. Details are aplenty from an eleven foot wide hood to a refrigerator and freezer built into a nook, framed in crown, to tall glass display cabinets. The two large islands command attention and provide ample work space, including a clean up station with a farm sink flanked by two dishwashers.

All good questions to ask! They were committed to making this home for a while, they decided to do a full remodel. The kitchen was not living up to its potential both visually and functionally. The dark cabinets and countertop made the room feel dull. And the major drawback, a large corner pantry that was eating into the room, make it appear smaller than it was. We started by ditching the corner pantry. It created a perfectly centered spot for the new professional range and made room for a much larger island that now houses a beverage center, microwave drawer, seating for three and tons of storage. The multi-generational family does a ton of cooking, so this kitchen gets used! We spent lots of time fine tuning the storage devices and planning where critical items would be stored. This included the new pantry area across from the refrigerator that houses small appliances and food staples. This Brookfield Kitchen Remodel was initiated by the Owners desire to update her dated 1990's oak kitchen with a fresh new look. The once, u-shaped kitchen, was redesigned with a large island with granite countertop. A mix of white and dark stained custom cabinets brightened the space and gave personality to chef space. Quartz countertops on the perimeter coordinates with the grey glass subway backsplash. Glass Uppers finish the cabinetry off, providing a space for the Owner to display fun dish-ware.
