The Arbutus Marina is a beautiful specimen plant. This shrub can be pruned to expose the lower burgundy branches. It is evergreen and gets a small bell flower in spring. The bloom is followed with fruits that look like strawberries. The fruits begin yellow and as they ripen turn orange and then red. The fruit is edible to humans but very bland. The local birds enjoy the fruit but as it does fall this plant is best in a plant bed where the fruits can be ignored to decompose and give back tot eh soil. It is best away from pavements but is lovely set off from a patio area.

The clients painted their gate this lovely color and wanted a substantial bronze gate latch to complement it. We think the combination of this contemporary lever latch and the salmon gate is wonderful. Close-up view of the patio-side of the gate latch.
