Infinity Edge Pool with Glass Tile Spa - 2017 Masters Of Design Award Winner

This project is an eclectic mix of sleek lines and unique materials. The project consists of 3 vessels. An upper infinity edge lap pool that flows over into the lower relax pool with glass tile lounge deck. Each pool is finished in PebbleTec french grey and accompanied by 3 massive cantilevered concrete water features with stainless steel spillways. The edgeless water detail on the back of the pool seamlessly integrates the landscape and vessel. This edgeless detail is also used on the in-pool island planter. The third vessel is an all glass tile perimeter overflow spa. Pentair equipment and paramount in-floor cleaning and lighting were used throughout the project.

Stunning private oasis in Colleyville, TX designed by Mike Farley and recently on HGTV's "Ultimate Pools" Shangri-La Pool. This project was constructed for privacy and relaxation. It has multiple water features including slate water walls, double rain falls coming out of a 10' arbor, fire bowls, water bowls, rain fall into spa, full outdoor kitchen, elevation changes, flagstone beach entry, large tanning ledge from tanning ledge to rain curtain, hidden grotto, diving slab, built in table. All put together it creates the perfect tranquil, private oasis with cascading waters all around. Aqua blue lighting installed in the Hallbrook Flip luxury pool along with a series of water spouts give the environment a resort style quality. The spouts shoot water high from the travertine pool deck into the water. There is a step-in reef on one end of the pool; the other features a balanced circle infinity edge hot tub where water flows over the top into the pool for 360 degrees. Built in seat benches were built around the interior of the pool for relaxing. Both the pool deck and coping installed are travertine. The coping was fabricated and finished on site.

This late 70's ranch style home was recently renovated with a clean, modern twist on the ranch style architecture of the existing residence. AquaTerra was hired to create the entire outdoor environment including the new pool and spa. Similar to the renovated home, this aquatic environment was designed to take a traditional pool and gives it a clean, modern twist. The site proved to be perfect for a long, sweeping curved water feature that can be seen from all of the outdoor gathering spaces as well as many rooms inside the residence. This design draws people outside and allows them to explore all of the features of the pool and outdoor spaces. Swimming pools are heavenly during hot Australian and New Zealand summers and are the perfect way to cool down, relax, entertain friends and even get fit. A transitional pool can also create visual interest, especially when you consider features like coloured pool tiles, lighting and landscaping. If you are short on space, you might still fit a lap pool, plunge pool or swim spa, all of which could be focal points in your small garden. As you plan your transitional pool design, map out your space and determine what size, shape and style works best for you. What type of pool should I install?

The dimensions of your transitional backyard will determine the type of inground pools you can install. Take into account boundary restrictions and pool fencing compliance. Fibreglass versions are cheaper, and quicker to install; whereas concrete constructions are better suited to tricky sites and give you more freedom in design. If you’re on a tight budget or don’t want to commit to an inground pool, above ground pools are a more affordable alternative. A cheaper alternative is aluminium or steel fencing, which, again, are available in a variety of styles: flat top, loop-top, double-top and wire-based.

What pool landscaping features should I consider?

To get the most out of your transitional pool, design an area that offers multiple hangouts. Include a nearby barbecue, dining area, seating for lounging and outdoor shower. Having shaded areas will give you more reason to stay poolside longer, too. Timber decking and stone paving are popular choices for pool surrounds, and are also helpful in creating zones. Just imagine a raised timber platform with a daybed – a luxurious, resort-style addition to any pool design. Leafy trees and rocks will create a more natural-looking oasis, and will help provide more privacy for swimmers. Where you want your landscape to be the main focus, keep pool equipment and furnishings to a minimum.
