The home was purchased as a vacation property and needed to be completely remodeled inside and out. Being from New Jersey, the homeowners wanted to capture a tranquil, tropical look with as little maintenance as possible. We removed a lot of hardscape from the front yard, to soften the curb appeal and introduce color and texture. The homeowners wanted the backyard to be a retreat where they could sit and enjoy the space, and fully embrace the 'vacation' aspect of the home. We created a two-level deck and patio, with outdoor kitchen, retractable screen, and pergola for entertaining. Raised planters soften the space, and an accent wall buffers noise from the air conditioner. We re-roofed an existing tiki hut, where the homeowner practices yoga, and incorporated statues found on site. We have worked with Dave and Nancy for many years on several areas of their home. I was surprised to learn that they wanted to put a river in their yard. In the beginning I thought they just wanted a small stream. All I can say is WOW! We started by helping to preserve a kiwi tree that was producing fruit in Apex. I did not realize that kiwi would actually produce fruit in our area. Then we assisted in the design and construction of the bridge and pergola. We suggested using Rosewood Timbertech and the Timbertech railing system so this would be a low maintenance project for many years to come. It was truly a pleasure assisting the homeowners with this wonderful project. Dave and I were enjoyed the private garden tour we were given when the gardens officially opened

KCreative Interiors were employed to give this balcony a tropical balcony setting make-over and assist with the art selection for the entry stairwell. We whitewashed the balcony and painted existing planter box and balustrades dark to add depth and contrast. Setting the perfect backdrop for this lush tropical garden. We created different seating areas to sit back and enjoy different aspects of this space. An oversized Vikki Lee art piece was commissioned to fill the void in the stairwell.
