New primary suite ensuite bathroom, creatively inserted into the existing attic space. A large format skylight provides the height needed to both pass building code, and provide for comfort of use by the owners.

A poky upstairs layout becomes a spacious master suite, complete with a Japanese soaking tub to warm up in the long, wet months of the Pacific Northwest. With its cavernous ambiance, the basement powder room is a mix of earthy hues and unexpected elements. An underlit floating vanity with stained oak cabinetry, vertical faucet wall, and textured blue stone tilework combine in an award-winning design. A contemporary black pendant light by Vibia illuminates a quartz countertop from Cesarstone. Oversize floor tiles from Villagio complement the company's wall tiles. Tokyo, Japan Residence 2014

Das Wellnessbad wird als Bad en Suite über den Schlafbereich der Dachgeschossebene durch eine doppelflügelige Schiebetür betreten. Die geschickte Anordnung des Doppelwaschtischs mit der dahinter liegenden Großraumdusche, der Panoramasauna mit Ganzglaswänden sowie der optisch freistehenden Badewanne nutzen den Raum mit Dachschräge optimal aus, so dass ein großzügiger Raumeindruck entsteht, dabei bleibt sogar Fläche für einen zukünftigen Schminkplatz übrig. Die warmtonigen Wandfarben stehen im harmonischen Dialog mit den Hölzern der Sauna und der Schrankeinbauten sowie mit den dunklen, großformatigen Fliesen. Die Sauna wurde maßgenau unter der Dachschräge des Wellnessbades eingebaut. Zum Raum hin nur durch Glasflächen abgeteilt, wird sie nicht als störender Kasten im Raum wahrgenommen, sondern bildet mit diesem eine Einheit. Dieser Eindruck wird dadurch verstärkt, dass die untere Sitzbank auf der Schmalseite der Sauna in gleicher Höhe und Tiefe scheinbar durch das Glas hindurch in das anschließende Lowboard übergeht, in das die Badewanne partiell freistehend eingeschoben ist. Die großformatigen Bodenfliesen des Bades wurden zum selben Zweck in der Sauna weitergeführt. Die Glaswände stehen haargenau im Verlauf der Fliesenfugen.

The remodelling of the roof space to create additional bedrooms offers the opportunity to utilise some of the acquired additional space as a sauna and steam room tucked away under the roof eaves and offers the homeowners a small private sanctuary for wellness and relaxation.

Knocked down wall to expand master bathroom shower and moved toilet into adjacent space. Long narrow bathroom with exterior wall adjacent so not much room for expansion.
