The distinct roof form of valleys and ridges relate in level to the existing roof for continuation of scale. The new roof cantilevers beyond the extension walls creating emphasis and direction towards the natural views.

Collaborative Interior DesignWe took advantage of the double volume ceiling height in the living room and added millwork to the stone fireplace, a reclaimed wood beam and a gorgeous, chandelier. The sliding doors lead out to the sundeck and the lake beyond. TV's mounted above fireplaces tend to be a little high for comfortable viewing from the sofa, so this tv is mounted on a pull down bracket for use when the fireplace is not turned on. Floating white oak shelves replaced upper cabinets above the bar area.
Labra Design BuildThis custom built-in entertainment center features white shaker cabinetry accented by white oak shelves with integrated lighting and brass hardware. The electronics are contained in the lower door cabinets with select items like the wifi router out on the countertop on the left side and a Sonos sound bar in the center under the TV. The TV is mounted on the back panel and wires are in a chase down to the lower cabinet. The side fillers go down to the floor to give the wall baseboards a clean surface to end against.
MURdesignWainscoting has a reputation as a rustic material, but it can also be stylishly incorporated into more sophisticated spaces, as seen here. To add texture and height to this contemporary living room, we chose beaded HDF panels with a 4'' linear motif. Each
4' x 8' panel (2.97 m2 or 32 sq. ft.) installs easily on the ceiling or wall with a minimum of technical know-how. Both elegant and economical, these faux wainscoting panels come pre-painted in white, but can be repainted to match your space. / On associe souvent le lambris aux décors champêtres. Or, ce type de revêtement produit aussi un très bel effet dans un décor plus moderne, comme celui-ci. Alison Giese InteriorsA prior great room addition was made more open and functional with an optimal seating arrangement, flexible furniture options. The brick wall ties the space to the original portion of the home, as well as acting as a focal point.

Boland WoodworkingThis is a library we built last year that became a centerpiece feature in "The Classical American House" book by Phillip James Dodd. We are also featured on the back cover. Asked to replicate and finish to match with new materials, we built this 16' high room using only the original Gothic arches that were existing. All other materials are new and finished to match. We thank John Milner Architects for the opportunity and the results are spectacular.
