Debra was fabulous to work with on the renovation and design of our master bedroom, ensuite, bathroom, and dining and living areas. She made making decisions much easier by helping us to narrow down choices and gently nudged us toward some much bolder ideas. We absolutely love the end product.

We approached Debs to assist with the design of a complicated tile porch floor - a focal point for a larger architecture-landscape project to create a sense of "arrival" at our house. The floor introduced colour and pattern to an otherwise restrained setting. Our positive experience with Debs and this piece of work led to other areas of aesthetic refresh and focus inside the house, including some built-in furniture, wallpaper and paint, light fixtures, throw pillows, and a bathroom reno. Most of these projects were limited in scope and insertions within existing rooms/environments, but in all cases lifted the visual interest of the room. She challenged us in a very positive way to introduce more colour and pattern when we might have made more conservative choices - the house is so much more interesting now.

Debra was fantastic from the planning through to execution and follow-up. She gave us very good advice, listened to our wishes and helped us push our boundaries to end up with a better result than we would have ever achieved on our own. She was great at liaising with tradies and ensuring that her vision (and ours) was realised. We would definitely recommend her to anyone considering major renovations.

We've worked with Debra on a number of projects. She is well organised and a pleasure to work with. Sometimes, when partway through a project I look at some of the components and I scratch my head, but when I see it all completed, when all the components are in place, I can then see what only she could see at the start - it's all working in complete harmony, and what seemed like a brave selection or choice is now perfectly positioned and meant to be.

Debra is the complete package . She is very skilled in design concepts and colours; imaginative and had and held a vision (which she was able to articulate clearly) when things had to flex due to the peculiarities of our project. She has dedicated builders with their own sub contractors and every person who worked on the job was skilled and personable, 100% trustworthy and in the case of our builder (Kevin MacPhee) quite humorous! Debra herself, is wonderful to work with… excellent communicator; always prompt and smiling; patient and generous in accessing products (eg whiteware and fabrics) for a good price. She has been a very successful designer for a number of years and the many suppliers and trades people who were involved in our project spoke highly of her. We were grateful for her persistence in sourcing the right tiles and blinds and are delighted with the end result.. Our original kitchen was about 25 years old and needed updating. It was particularly challenging as we did not have much wall space and wanted to move our refrigerator from the north window. This necessitated taking out a part of a side wall and opening up to the entrance are and door which were a step down. Challenges met and we are pleased with how the entrance way and adjoining dining room all flow together nicely. Debra also provided input into art placement and Roman blinds in both the entrance way and dining room. It was a real pleasure having Debra do the designing and trade co-ordination for our project. We will definitely work with her again on an upcoming bathroom project. (Will post photos later)

Exceptional designer who transformed my small apartment I recently moved into a small apartment with a unique character and several features I wanted to keep — but the kitchen wasn’t working for me and I needed a practical, beautiful solution fast. I’m so glad Debra was recommended to me. From the first visit — when Debra listened and walked the space with me — she came up with excellent, usable ideas. For the kitchen she designed a custom mid-century industrial scheme built around the original features I wanted to retain. The result looks great, gives me more bench space, caters to my low-vision needs, and makes cooking enjoyable again. She managed the whole project end-to-end: coordinating trusted tradies from her network and keeping the work tidy, fast, and professional. A year on, the kitchen is still a joy to use and draws lots of compliments for how well it enhances the apartment, and Debra continues to help me sort other problem design areas. Debra has been an absolute godsend over the years, and I genuinely don’t know how I would have navigated multiple renovation projects without her! She has supported me through major kitchen and bathroom renovations, helped design cohesive indoor and outdoor paint colour schemes, and most recently guided me through selecting all new blinds and window coverings after a house fire. In what could have been an overwhelming process, she brought clarity, calm, and expertise. What sets Debra apart is her ability to simplify and really 'get' the vibe or style of the individual client she's working with. While there are like 100s of shades of whites/neutrals, I just tell Debra the look I'm wanting, and she considers the light and aspect and other things to do with the room, and then she narrows it down to the two whites that are exactly right, and then I just choose from those two! So much simpler than trying 15 whites out! The same goes for fabrics: when I was searching for a soft, white-ish linen with a relaxed, wabi sabi feel, she narrowed hundreds of options at the Design Library and distilled them down to a small, thoughtful selection that perfectly captured the look I was going for. Debra has great taste, but just as importantly, she really listens. She understands both the aesthetic and the feeling you’re trying to create, and then translates that into practical, achievable and economical choices. What I also appreciated was Debra telling me where to splurge and where to save! She's very practical. Debra doesn’t just design beautiful spaces—she makes the whole process feel manageable. I trust her and couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Working with Debra really took us out of our comfort zone and it was the best decision we made in our renovation journey. Debra helped us with a huge renovation of our 100 year old house. Debra was fantastic to work with as we looked to refresh our bathrooms and redecorate my daughter's bedroom. She has a wonderful sense of colour and style and really brought to life (and massively enhanced!) our vision for the rooms. Debra was referred to us by residents in our street who were delighted with the replacement kitchen design and installation she did for them. We have an older house with a tired kitchen. We needed someone sympathetic to the character and style of our home and to our wishes. Debra's design and direction succeeded in every way. We enjoyed meeting her team of workmen and were happy to have them in our home under her direction while the project was underway and we were overseas. We first engaged Debra for the design of our bathrooms in our existing house in Woburn Lower Hutt. As we were delighted with the outcome we appointed Debra for our new home in Petone, Lower Hutt where she designed the kitchen,two bathrooms,laundry,bedroom wardrobe fittings and interior design generally. Again we were very impressed with the result. We would have no hesitation in appointing Debra in the future.

I just can't speak highly enough about Debra. She had provided design advice to us for the last couple of years as we have slowly updated our home. No job is too big or too small and she has put just as much energy to the tiny jobs along the way as the bigger ones. Her communication has been excellent, she has listened to what we want to do, worked within our budget, challenged us sometimes, and I've absolutely loved all her design suggestions which have taken our ideas to another level.

Debra was involved in design and project management of renovations to our bathroom and kitchen a number of years ago. We made most design and product decisions. Debra sourced subcontractors and custom built units. Unfortunately most of the build work was sub-standard and cost us a significant amount over the 5-10 years after project completion to rectify. The builder she used for the job was Kendall Payne. We are still finding issues with build quality today.

Debra is colourful and she really know how to use her fair applying it customer requirements. I engage Debra to come up with carpet, curtain and furniture selections for my new home. After a single consultation meeting Debra returned with fantastic samples and I quickly selected various pieces. Then Debra got everything ordered and installed where needed. I absolutely love what Debra has created for me. Later I engaged Debra as I want remote control roman blinds for a room with 5 floor to ceiling windows. Again she suggested some terrific fabrics and then organised the manufacture and installation. Debra also recommended a landscape architect that I selected to work with. The architect said Debra is the queen of colour.

Debra is qualified, professional, friendly and incredibly creative. She is a pleasure to work with, and is always thinking outside the box. Thoroughly enjoyed my time and meetings with her!!

Debra has worked with me on quite a few projects (I am a Landscape Architect so we work together on projects occasionally) and I have yet to see one which isn't seriously imaginative, workable and received delightedly by her clients. Debra updated our Kitchen and bath rooms over the last few years. In both cases she walked the fine line of pushing us so that we had the amazing rooms she coudl envision and listening when we felt it was a step beyond where we wanted to go. Debra designed three amazing bathrooms for me. I love them every time I walk in. She has a real flair for making a room special. Debra is really good at getting the ergonomics and practicalities right. She told me when what I wanted didn't make sense and why. I really appreciated that. But mostly, she has that WOW factor. Deb helped me design my new bathroom and toilet which were extremely small and very challenging to be able to include all the things I wanted. I'm hugely happy with the result. Deb's extensive experience in interior decor and design is something I hold in very high regard and would highly recommend her for small to large jobs.

We used Debra to help us with the design of our kitchen. She helped us work through our ideas to get our ideal kitchen. Debra added plenty of her own ideas but didn't force them on us, rather let us work out what exactly would work best for us. We had a small space to work with and this pushed the boundaries of design, but Deb helped us get there with great creativity. We now have the best kitchen! We trusted Deb so much with the kitchen design that we got her to do our bathrooms, again with tight space limitations, and again we came up with fabulous designs that really work for us. Then it was time to select the colours for the whole house and here Deb really came into her own. My wife Sally had a theme in mind and Deb pointed her towards a number of creative options, critiqued what Sally proposed and helped confirm the final choices. Deb stayed involved with us right through the installation of the kitchen and the purchase and making of curtains, wall paper and other decorations. We are really grateful to her for her attention to detail, organizing contractors and sorting out any little glitches that arose. I highly recommend her.
