Architecta Ltd
Architects in Akaroa, Canterbury
“Susanne from Architecta immediately got the feel of our old house (which had to be demolished post-quake) and of our lifestyle, and designed a replacement that fitted us well. It was a pleasure to work with someone who shared our sustainability ideals and had a great depth of knowledge. We were immensely grateful for her professional support and guidance through all the aspects of the build, and would thoroughly recommend Architecta.”
Bob Burnett Architecture
Architects in Akaroa, Canterbury
“I have worked with the BBA team providing landscape design services for several residences around Christchurch and have found them fantastic to work with. They are enthusiastic and responsive to new ideas, materials and approaches and their expertise in sustainable design strategies provides a great inspiration for environmentally friendly landscapes. Perhaps the best testimonial is meeting BBA clients who remain totally in love with their homes many years after it was built.”
MCAS - Max Capocaccia Architecture Studio
Architects in Akaroa, Canterbury
“When it came to building our own house, Max and his team came on board to help put the finishing touches on the design and detail up our plans. They were very accommodating, considering that, as clients who work in the industry, we were very much a part of the process. Max helped to push some aspects of the design architecturally, and we are really happy with the end result. They were professional but still approachable and friendly to deal with. MCAS are passionate about sustainable design, which is very important to us too, so they were a great fit for us and our project.”
Bill Henderson Architect
Architects in Akaroa, Canterbury
“Bill has designed four properties for us. We have found bill to be professional and easy to work with. One of his experties is passive solar and the sun orientation in relation to your property.”
JosephDavid Architecture Ltd
Architects in Akaroa, Canterbury
“Highly recommend working with Joe. As first time new home builders he helped us navigate the building process providing good options and advice during the process, worked well with our builder and even went the extra mile to ensure that council issued our building consent prior to Xmas so we did not have any delays in the build start date. Build was completed on time and on budget. We love our new house :)”
ADQ Partnership Ltd
Architects in Akaroa, Canterbury
“We have just completed our second home over a ten year period designed by ADQ architecture with Principal Kurt Lehman. We were very pleased with the first experience and are delighted with the end result on this second occasion. Kurt has an ability to really understand a brief and budget. We loved his creative ideas and sense of size, space and proportion. He has up to date knowledge of the latest building materials and related technologies. And most importantly, he has a very pleasant interpersonal style with a refreshing ability to convey his ideas without imposing his own views.”

“With his international background from both Italy, Venezuela and modern Shanghai; Belfiore fully understood our brief as we tried to incorporate our experiences from when we were living in Spain, Egypt and Brazil.
Our hill section was truly challenging because of its unusual shape and steepness, however; Belfiore designed the house in a way that is not only stunning but also very comfortable in terms of spaces and thermal performance, a real pleasure to live in. Everyone who visits us is amazed of how well the house flows, both from the outside-in as from the inside-out.
The design was also a result of several meetings on which the need to go beyond ordinary office hours was never a problem as Belfiore is strongly committed to arrive at a design solution that reaches a high level of uniqueness while being architecturally sound and, as in our case; includes all client's wishes.”
Smith and Sons Renovations & Extensions Port Hills
Architects in Akaroa, Canterbury
“MCAS has been working with Anthony from Smith and Sons Renovations & Extensions Port Hills on a number of residential alterations.
We have recommended him to a client of ours for a house renovation and extension.
The work has been carried out timely and in budget and Anthony proved again to have a proactive and cooperative approach.”
Kevler Homes
Architects in Akaroa, Canterbury
“We engaged Yellow River construction to build our new home, from the concept plan to completion, Ricky was very honest and his professionalism guided us through the whole process.
Passers by often admired and praised the quality finishes! We have no hesitation recommend to anyone who are looking to build with Yellow River construction.”
Young Architects
Architects in Akaroa, Canterbury
“I have never seen anyone get more excited about a new building than the people of Redcliffs. I could barely get any work done!
The story starts, as so many others in Christchurch, with earthquakes and demolition. The team at Young Architects has close ties to the neighbourhood, and was involved in the rebuild of the community library from the very beginning. They took up the challenge of designing an inviting public meeting space that reflects its community. From the red colour of the building to the gable construction reminiscent of the spines on a bookshelf, the library is a space Redcliffs is very proud of, as I soon learned.
Since I happen to live down the road, I did more than my usual share of bullying the client into involving me. I knew the semi-translucent gable would be perfect for blue hour photography once finished. I got really excited picturing the final images in my mind's eye.
When Greg Young and I finally toured the library, the degree of pride in the community was almost overwhelming. People stopped us repeatedly in the streets to tell their library stories, express how proud they are, and what a good guy Greg is. There were even a few hugs.
While I was shooting the building a little while later, people repeatedly told me how happy they were with their new library. It was touching to see how connected everyone felt with this space. I hope the images will do the project justice.”
