Dan had the vision to create our dream home out of the existing footprint. I can go on about his design and vision, but Dan brought so much more to the project than just creating a pretty picture. We built our home in Hillsborough NJ where the town is strict with compliance and our builder was a nightmare!!
Dan went above and beyond the call of duty. Without Dan in our corner we would have never gotten to the finish line!!!! We were and are very happy with Dan's work ethic, vision, project oversight, and all around professionalism/knowledge.

“My husband and I first hired Unger and Mahns in 2000 to build our 5500 Sq. ft. house in Rumson,NJ.The design was classic,sophisticated,tasteful and timeless."Michael and Michael" guided us through the design and construction and were available on site whenever the builder needed them.When we sold the house in 2008,the structural engineer that the buyers hired to inspect the house said it was one of the best built homes he had ever inspected.
In 2006,we hired them again to do the plans for our summer home in Cape May, N.J. They designed our fabulous dutch colonial that looks like it is 100 years old.We are consistently told that is it one of the prettiest homes in town and not a day goes by where someone doesn't stop and comment on it.Our builder in CM said that the plans he received from U and M were the most detailed and complete set of plans he had ever worked with.
They designed the new Rumson Country Club Pool House.It is a masterpiece!
I am a real estate agent and my husband is as type "A" as they come.We are tough customers and pretty demanding.We recommend U and M 100% and feel they are worth their weight in gold.They are not the least expensive in the area but you get what you pay for.They are thorough,knowledgeable and very experienced.”

“I found Ben Herzog Architects while browsing Houzz.com. I would add photos to my ideabook and discovered that most of the projects were done by Ben! Ben has been great helping us decide how we can maximize space in our 1917 Brooklyn row house. We have decided on a more open floor plan, new wood plank floors, high hat lighting, a bit larger kitchen space with higher ceiling and an island, a shallow broom closet and banquette seating in our dining room. The demolition began 9/5/12 and as a result we have discovered that we can open up the doorway openings even more than planned! Ben is happily revising his drawings and I can't wait to see the changes! Ben and his team are easy to work with and very helpful with design and product ideas while keeping our budget in mind!”
