Shelley Groves Garden Design

Shelley helped us plan our new garden project in a very friendly and professional manner. She brought her strong gardening and planting expertise to bear and provided us with a positive direction for the project, good design sense and helpful links to allow us to proceed with confidence. Shelly was always very communicative, prompt and courteous. At the start of the project we agreed a schedule for her services which was clear and unambiguous and which generally avoided any 'fluffiness' and allowed us to de-stress our project. Our project was a garden plan for three areas immediately surrounding our house - on three sides of the house - involving mixed planting / pathways / decking. It would have been around 200 sqm. Happy to employ Shelley again.

Homescapes turned our steep crumbling bank into an attractive and useable garden. Bill came up with a really creative and unique design that worked with the landscape and addressed our needs as a family – he even incorporated some of our children’s ideas into the design! He and his team were pleasant to deal with and we’re very pleased with the results.

I have engaged the services of Jamie Reid Landscaping and Design on two separate occasions; one to provide a planting plan for the front garden and the other, to design a folly for a rear garden. Front garden: Jamie popped around for an initial consultation to understand my requirements. We negotiated our way through the consult and came to a mutual agreement of what was essentially, a remit for an English-style Cottage garden in Khandallah. There was regular communication from Jamie and I was kept apprised throughout the process. Jamie provided a comprehensive to-scale planting plan. Jamie also offered to not only source the plants but to also project manage the landscaping. It was, however, my preference to do the donkey work myself. The end results is a magnificent year-round English-style Cottage garden. We constantly get positive comments from locals and visitors alike at the rarity of seeing a Cottage garden in Khandallah. We also happily allowed the Khandallah School access for their bi-annual garden tour. Rear garden: Two years post-front garden completion, I engaged Jamie to design a folly for the rear garden and suggest some planting ideas. Being nestled into a native-dominant bank, Jamie suggested aromatic and colourful plantings, e.g. heuchera, clivia, hostas, etc. The folly design went through a number of iterations and we settled on a structure of Greywacke stone pillars with a Wedgewood blue metal framework for the 'roof' and Buttercup yellow bench seats and bearers. Once complete, the colurful folly just 'popped' against the background. Jamie suggested rebuilding the riverstone walls with the same stone as the pillars. This was a masterstroke as it tied the house and rear garden together. All-in-all an extremely satisfactory result. I have found Jamie to be very patient, knowledgeable and inclusive, and also willing to offer alternatives. I will certainly use Jamie's services again, regardless of where we are in the region.
Nice Pozi Landscaping

Thoroughly recommend Nice Pozi. They have just completed a remodelling of our Wellington hilly backyard to turn it from an underused uneven grass slope to a highly functional terraced vege garden with washing line terrace and utility area. The team have been so easy to deal with providing a very clear and detailed quote and keeping us updated on options and any variations. They know a lot about native plants and had great ideas to tie in the tricky existing construction and new steps up through the trees. So happy we will have them back again for more work soon.

Catherine was a pleasure to deal with, I really enjoyed working with her on our water feature garden project. She was resourceful and went the extra mile to ensure we were happy with the final plan/result. Catherine listened carefully with a professional approach to my brief and made excellent suggestions to suit the site and conditions. She supplied a comprehensive plant list inclusive of images and even helped with the plant purchasing. I would happily work with her again and highly recommend her. Thanks Catherine for all your hard work.

Ann has helped us over the last year to design and plant our garden and to design/oversee our hard landscaping. The project was a new build in a challenging coastal environment. Throughout the project Ann has been very attentive and responsive to our needs and aspirations, guiding and supporting us through what was practicable and achievable. She also assisted us through what was a very difficult process on one of our fences. Her calmness was a key feature in us making progress. Ann also coordinated and managed the various contractors. The section has been transformed over the last year and we are very happy with the outcome. Ann has been excellent to work with - her unassuming but professional approach is a real asset. I would unreservedly recommend her to anyone who wishes to develop and or enhance their properties.

Jon Lambert is a very likeable, talented , creative person who was a pleasure to work with on the transformation of our urban garden. We had a 1905 villa surrounded by a large messy, mixed garden with a swimming pool . Jon designed a modern garden that had formal elements to complement the house and pool. As time passes the plantings create an evermore beautiful , private retreat which is also easier to care for. We love it and highly recommend Jon Lambert designs.
