They have an experienced staff of craftsmen and horticulturalists. Which can tackle any size project and have a range of specialties including : deer resistant plantings, custom stone work, drainage and grading, etc.... We have successfully collaborated on numerous awarding winning projects and I would recommend their work.”

“LDAW remodeled my pool and plantings for the landscape around the pool. They also designed the plantings for the front of my home. This is an extremely professional organization and I would use them again. Estimates are done by the owner and his drawings will explain exactly what to anticipate. The laborers are on time, reliable and take a lot of pride in their work. The owner is available and will return calls if need be. I cannot see how things could have gone better for both of these large projects for my home.”

“Bryan Quinn of One Nature advised me on the planning and design of a wetland improvement project funded through the Natural Resources Conservation Service involving development of two ponds and restoration of native habitats within the surrounding areas comprising about 15 acres.. After evaluating site conditions and laying out an overall conceptual plan for habitat zones, nature trails and observation points, he prepared a detailed plan and specs for planting groves of trees, site maintenance and circulation for areas immediately surrounding the ponds as well as supervision of site work. The work went quickly, on schedule and Mr. Quinn was very professional, generous with time and paid attention to detail, and within budget.”

“Greg at VisionScape Design was recommended to me by my landscaper to help design a pool for my backyard, complete with landscaping, pool patio, etc. The project was somewhat challenging, because my backyard is sloped. Greg's design shows fencing, a walkway with steps from the driveway and deck to the pool, as well as steps and a walkway from a covered patio. There will also be a whirlpool on a lower deck, overlooking the pool. Greg's design was perfect, way above what I expected. But what really blew me away was the way he presented the plans. It included a construction plan, a beautiful planting schematic in color with all plants specified, numerous color "photos" showing what the final design will look like from many angles, as well as a video as if you were walking to the pool, with additional perspectives and even aerial views, and views at night. Greg went way above and beyond and did a beautiful job. I highly recommend Greg and VisionScape Design!”

“I can't say enough about Tilly. I am an interior designer that works with some of the most high end landscape design firms in Chicago. This project was on a tight budget so decided to give Tilly a try. We were a little nervous because Tilly was a fraction of some of the other prices, but I can easily say they do it all with just as much thought and care as those other guys. Our designer Stephen really got to know our needs and his thoughtful design clearly reflected that. I couldn't get over the quality of the final design materials we ended up with at the end of the process. Plants, hardscape, and a detailed plan and information on it all. Chicago is not an easy climate for landscaping and we were given only plants that thrived in our space and not someone is California's. “I enjoy doing my own gardening, but needed help creating a cohesive design for my 1-acre lawn. Susan of The Crafted Garden evaluated my property, listened to my ideas, and then created a landscape design that could be implemented in stages. She provided drawings, including transparencies over pictures of our existing garden to help us envision the change. She consulted us at each stage, telling us what to expect in costs of labor and plant material. With Susan's crew, we began in Fall '13, altering the site's hard scape, then fine-tuned the beds and planted this spring, completing the first and largest phase of the work. Susan reoriented the approach to our home, widened beds, and created a planting scheme that tied the different areas together, incorporating native species that provide good habitats for birds. Susan and her crew were prompt, worked very quickly, and left the site clean. They accomplished in two weekends what would have taken me 6 months. Susan provided information about what we needed to do to keep our plants healthy -- watering schedules, mulch, etc. it has been exciting to see the the plants flourish and to envision the garden's continuing maturity. (I have inadequate pictures taken with my phone, but will post pictures at another date.) We had a positive experience and I learned a great deal about the process. When we began, I was focused on the plants to be chosen. But it was Susan's careful preparation -- curving a walk here, arcing a bed there -- that showcased our home's best features, and set the stage for a garden that offers us color and lovely scent throughout the seasons. Based on my experience, I highly recommend Susan as a creative and knowledgeable partner.”

“My wife and I initially hired Takumi Design to design and build our in-ground swimming pool and surrounding garden, stone patio in the backyard. One of the best things about Takumi is that they handled all aspects of the project from start to finish, so we did not have to hire and coordinate with several different firms to complete the project. Takumi handled the architecture and gardening designs, assisted with the town's approval/permit process, excavated and built the pool and the hot tub, and did all of the surrounding stone and tile work. They took care of the piping for the plumbing and electrical, including our last minute changes like adding a generator, and adding a stairwell. They also designed and built our granite grilling area and later, our fire pit area. They handled the entire horticultural project from making recommendations about what flowers, plants and trees to use, to designing the beds, purchasing the plants and installing everything. It looks so beautiful, that every year my family cannot wait until spring time for the all season-long floral displays to begin. We were so pleased with Takumi's work that we have since hired them to do smaller projects for us, like redoing the front walkway with flagstone, and designing and installing a lima-bean shaped flower bed in the front of the house. They are extremely hands-on and very easy to work with. My wife and I highly recommend them.”
