“The assigment started out being for a front lawn, front and side paths and fences renovation in Lyall Bay. Then with the prospect of a cycleway in the street that would halve the available parking, I expanded the brief to include digging out about 30% of the front section to make offstreet parking. Jamie listened carefully to my fairly sketchy ideas, checked what my bottom lines were, then came up with excellent design concepts, including a planting plan. His design mixes modern and more traditional elements that complement my 1910 villla well. Jamie has long-standing working relationships with an excellent landscape contractor, who had an excellent team of workers, and access to expert concrete contractors, painters and plumbers needed to turn Jamie's designs into reality. We unexpectedly struck some water seepage issues when creating the off-street parking, which delayed matters for a while - but solutions were eventually found that enabled the retaining walls and car pad to be built. The end result of the combined tradies efforts to realise Jamie's design is a front section that is vastly better looking, and much more functional. Such a joy to be able to park on my section, and have only a few steps up the new stairs to the front door. I am constantly getting feedback from friends, family, neighbours and passersby about how great the front section now looks. Jamie was a pleasure to deal with throughout the assignment, coming on site at key points to make sure things were going to plan. He's very thorough, and good at explaining why things are as they are in his plans.
