Our project was a 24 x 12 metre shed for our lifestyle property. I found the process very professional, the planning and design was all taken care of including consent applications etc. The timing and delivery of the materials was as needed and the quality of the product supplied was first class. I would recommend the company to others looking to build a lifestyle building.

I first got in contact with Customkit for our New Build project in rural Auckland. They seemed like the perfect fit and what we were looking for in terms of service and the style we were seeking. After a few months of contact discussing design ideas via phone, emails and even a intro meeting with Nigel, whom was very helpful at the time, the responses slowed down right up until the point where I had to send several emails and calls to get answers. Their goto response always included, "we are very busy at the moment", so I remained patient, as a builder that is busy is generally a good sign (or so i thought). After almost 6 months of ongoing, and painfully slow, contact and trying to finalise a concept design to get priced, I was told verbally that our project was, "too risky and tricky to build", and that we should, "find another builder". I was absolutely appalled at this comment, after spending months of communication, ideas and time, to be told that they are no longer interested! Instead of trying to find solutions, i was provided with a problem which i had to think of myself. Regrettably and foolishly, I acted as if i owned the business, trying to put the 'customer first' and provided options and possible solutions to get around the hurdle of a project that would be "too risky and tricky" to build. (the design consists of simple gabled pavilions with links, nothing fancy, tricky or new in the building industry) Again, after sending through the solutions, and over a week of no contact, i sent my final email to see if there had been any developments. I received an email back saying, "Sorry we have had a look and we can't take the risk on this design, think it would be better if you could find someone else to take it on". That was the final straw and I suppose it is a blessing in disguise but I would of course, not recommend Customkit for their service, lack of communication and waste of time to get our hopes up on building our dream house.

We liked the Customkit style of house with the board & batten look but we had our own house plan. We asked if Customkit could make our house plan into a kit set form as we wanted to everything ourselves after lockup stage. After going over the plan they said "Yes" they could do that, not a problem. Customkit organised everything after that. They had their whole team working on the plans from draftsman, to engineers, to the factory where the whole kit was put together and delivered. They even delivered the plans to Council for us & recommended a local builder that lived out our way to get the kit together to lock up stage. Nothing was to much trouble for them, they were always just a phone call away. They are the loveliest people to work with and we would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to build a home. You won't be disappointed.

Thoroughly professional attitude , courteous and respectful to our wishes. Easily accommodated my changes throughout the design stage. Promptly worked through several supply issues with our builder. Highly recommended.

A wonderful build and experience. We love our home and have enjoyed watching it flourish into a beautiful family home. Custom Kit met our brief and produce a home that we can enjoy for many years to come.

Customkit did a great job in providing great insight and advice during the design stage of designing our new home. They were also very open to our desires and wants in the design and the end result seemed to come together quite naturally. The managing of the project also was well delivered and transparent. I approached Custom Kit to help design and build 4 unique barns for our new business venture MATAKANA BOTANICALS .Barns included main warehouse & office / retail shop & Cafe / distillery / implement shed. We have recently built a house in the Wairarapa NZ using Customkit Buildings Ltd as the designer and supplier of materials to lock-up stage. At all times we found Customkit to be thoroughly professional but also caring and interested in our project. At no time did they view it as just another job, they were engaged and interested in the build from the initial concept meetings until the house was totally finished. I felt they were as proud of the end product as we were. Many members of the team have been to visit, no small undertaking considering the site is about 650k from their base.
