What is the best edge right now for countertops? It seems like a little thing, but my style is somewhat traditional, yet they say too fussy an edge is hard to clean, bullnose is dated.... Sigh....
Instead of worrying about what is in style, go with what you like unles you're renovating to sell. And don't worry about being traditional. At least half of the homes here on the design forum are remarkably traditional IMO so you're more in style than you think. -:)
It all depends on the stone, size, and color of the grain on the countertop. With traditional countertops you want to counter the level of elegance of your molding. For example, if you have a lot or busy molding/details you want to use a more simplistic edge and vice-versa. Although countertop edges may seem like a small thing, it can really tie your kitchen together. We could be more helpful as far as suggestions go if you can provide photos of your actual kitchen space. In the mean time, take a look at some of our traditional kitchens that we designed. It can give you a better idea of what we are talking about. We hope this helped.
