Not sure what to do to my kitchen
Comments (17)Lighting - pendants over the servery bench should be another feature that complements your chosen kitchen surfaces. So whilst I love the copper pendants in picture 1.. They could work depending on the rest of your decor and would be a highlight in a neutral white/timber kitchen = Good! If you choose copper you would complement it with a couple of copper bench top items. These are beautiful! (I collect copper because I love it, my kitchen pendants are silver, I renovated to sell in the next 3-5 years) You will see a picture starting to form in your mind and there is nothing wrong with making a statement with your lighting. I found that when I wasn't sure I would get a very strong sense of what was right and what was wrong for a space, then common sense or passion would determine the outcome! Here are another couple that might work, look her on Houzz under lighting, search pendants, then have fun looking!Timber tones with black or white to complement your cabinets... or Statement white pendants for a bit of quirky fun! Your personality can be reflected in your lighting and accessories creating that point of difference from the predictable white on timber look. Plus don't forget the power of greenery to punctuate the theme!...See MoreAwful wardrobe - what do do? Need DIY ideas!
Comments (11)I grew up with these panel doors and remember the glorious day they were replaced by a curtain. So if you are open to the idea, for ease of use, least effort and cost that's a simple fix that your daughter may want herself. The top cabinet doors can be considered a cornice for the drapes, and can be upholstered, maybe in the same fabric as her window curtains, and a simple drape with coordinating stripe on the bottom. Search "upholstered doors" on Houzz, and you will see ideas for nailhead trim, tufting, etc as well. You may also be able to add thin trim molding in a custom design to make them special. Good luck!...See MoreHelp!! What to do with my kitchen bench!!!! :(
Comments (1)There are specialist benchtop repair companies that do this type of work. Ask for a quote. These two have been recommended in various online forums by people who use them, but I have not personal experience with them. http://www.toprepairs.nz/ http://www.benchdoctors.co.nz/...See MoreWhat to do with this wall covering in stairwell/landing??
Comments (0)Hi there, this is an extension that was added to our house in the 70's, I'm not sure what is on the wall but it needs to go!! If I could paint over it I would but I don't think we can, also any solutions for the block work? I would like to update it all and was thinking plastering over the block-work to get an even finish and replacing the brown "laminate"? with Gib. We are getting new carpet laid soon so I need to do this first! I am looking for the most cost effective solution as my husband doesn't think it is necessary.HELP!!!...See MoreLy N
