I think you answered your own question. Put the dish drawer in your kitchen island and a full dishwasher in the scullery area of the house you will be living in. Store the big pots that will be washed in the full dishwasher in the scullery area. For the house you intend to sell, I think a full size dishwasher is sufficient.

Personally I would save the room you want done the most until last - often during renovations, whether you're doing it yourself or paying someone, you still get sick of the mess, having other people in your home every day etc and what happens is you finish one room and want a break which can lead on to eith takgin months or not getting the last rooms done at all. If the last room is the one most important to you, you will continue on until that one is completed and this gives a much better feeling of satisfaction than doing that room first because you have that build up of anticipation.

In my experience Moewaka, it is usually more economic to keep as much of the existing as you can and add on what you need. Some things do depend on the level of finish you want to achieve too. You'd want good masking skills , but I'd do the beams and uprights in a charcoal . The actual ceiling inside looks okay -- obviously any water-stains or the outside eves would need sanding and re-varnishing .
