hello from the other side of the hemisphere. the material is steel cladding transformed [almost magically] by 'the modern craftsman' located in salt Lake city, utah, usa. the beautiful patina is achieved using a myriad of chemical compounds and technically honed skills. the craftsman calls it the 'stargazer' effect. we wanted the largest breaks of metal he could make, which ended up relating to the proportions of the gas fire box.
This Cotten steel look can be achieved with a large format porcelain tile called "Industry Raw Oxyde" from Refin Ceramiche. I almost thought it was this until I read on. Nice look!
