This is a really awkward space! What about trying to build a unit into the corner which seems to be dead space. This could house the television and other bits like dvr,amp etc. The unit could then extend out towards the door in length and in height either up to the start of the window or up to the start of the blinds. I would suggest drawers for toy storage and books above. In this way you leave the windows clear for light plus it looks like you have a pull down screen so the tv would be out of the way of that. This arrangement would also hide all those wires and cables! Hi Courtney, Thanks so much for your reply. Sorry to have taken so long to answer. We have been a bit busy here, especially with a brand new granddaughter born this past week. I have not bought new furniture for the room as my husband is not well and finds the old furniture so comfortable. I have been trying to freshen it up with new accessories instead. What you have suggested looks very nice and down the road we might do that. I appreciate your input.

With the pantry being located where it is, it provides a opportunity to make it inbuilt and continue your bench top along. This would then provide more bench space and would make sure you are using that wall to its full potential. However for space and flow and to make your kitchen more ascetically pleasing, we would suggest keeping the island bench and making the appliances integrated. This provides opportunity to make that far wall a feature wall, which can be as simple as a blackboard or pictures, to making it a colour feature (depending on you cabinetry) or even to make it high class you could create a wood paneling feature. I hope this helps, either way you can add bonus features to your kitchen, you can create more storage and bench space with changing the pantry, or you could make a design feature out of that wall. Hi there, I moved into my house 18 months ago and I still cant figure out how to deal with the dining table as its in an awkward place.I know the table is too big at 2m long, but until I know exactly what will work unfortunately I'm not in a position to buy/try anything else.I'm thinking my best option would be to have a booth style seat against the island and either a 1.8m table off-centre to the island Or a 1.6m table centred.Would it look weird to have a dining table off centre to the island, or would it be weird to have a 1.6m booth seat (centred) against a 2.1m island?If anyone has any suggestions / tips it would be hugely appreciated(and apologies for the mess)Thank you
