I have a lovely old dining table that's just too narrow. It's about 60" long and I'd love some ideas as to how I could widen it to a square table without wrecking the look. Can anyone help?
Unfortunately it's in storage at the moment, but it's old baltic pine with reasonably delicate (ie not real chunky) turned legs. In fact there are some tables on the discussion sidebar that look very similar
You can of course have a furniture repair business add material and refinish. Or you can add a center accent piece of tile, or wood inlay. If you're going from a narrow rectangle to a square, you would need to disassemble the table anyway, might as well do something fun with it.
