[houzz=] Here is another that uses the corner well. This also will help offset the lack of symmetry on the range wall as well. Your cabinet maker would need to work out all the measurements. The base drawers to the right of the range may need to be reduced in size to be the same as the ones on the left, which will also help balance the wall. This tall unit to the left of the range will help to balance the large pantry on the right. Where the below picture does not show it, you would have room to place a small matching wall cabinet to the left of the corner tower to balance and to balance out the space between the window. Then you can still have some type of unit to the left of the sink with the appliance garage, but it would not need to be quite as wide and would give some space next to the sink. Look at this more and see what you think. There are some very unique features to your plan. A very high level of customization and much thought has gone into it. It is going to be beautiful. Hi Davina, either way would look good, so don't stress about it too much. This is a similar set up to our kitchen and I went with A & B both tiled and haven't regretted it. It looks generous and is more practical. Tiles are best around food prep areas as they are easier to clean than a painted wall ... you think that the splash back is what gets the most dirty but the walls around it get their share of splashes as well. In terms of suggestions for tiles - we went with a white textured subway - boring I know, but classic. Using a darker grey grout to match your bench would look good. Two slightly seperate thoughts -- -- V Groove may be hard to clean ? Also , it will look a bit 'homestead' -- I don't know if that look is really right here ? -- I suspect anything too white will not look great -- even the existing kitchen looks too much the same IMO , even allowing for ( or maybe added to by ) the avocado olive . The first thing I noticed was the clock , because of the colours . The plaque above the stove , and the stools , also all add to the existing scheme , as they show imagination as well as colour . The things I dislike are the 2 black hanging lights , and the 'nothing' colour of the spalshback -- whilst they wouldn't really work in a red or orange or yellow while there is that avocado , in a whiter or ( ironically ) a black and white based colour scheme , brighter light shades and a complimentary splashback or tiles ( r / y / o ) would really add . In other words , if you went white upper cupboards , do charcoal lower ones , or charcoal benchtops ( or cedar doors if going for natural wood ) ; then add some more colour to add to the overall look .
