Will I have enough room to easily grasp my cabinet pulls?

We are doing a new build, and have selected a shaker/ mission style cabinet for our kitchen and bathrooms that has a recessed panel. The drawers we selected were the 5 piece style vs the flat panel kind. I seem to recall our cabinet guy saying that there was 5/16" difference between the recessed panel and the outside pieces. I have decided to go with an "all pull" look rather than a mix of knobs and pulls for the cabinet hardware. (Just easier to order all 1 kind I thought, and creates a more cohesive look). My question is this. The pulls have a projection of 7/8" according to the manufacturers website. If they were placed in the middle of the drawers, would that be enough room to grasp the pull easily, or should I place them on the top portion of the drawer where it sticks out more already? Or a mix of the 2? Like in the middle for the deeper drawers, and on the top for the shallower ones?
