And then I'd put a skinny pull out pantry to the left of the fridge to end that run, not a wall. Lots of storage, and you can get them at 15" width. Comments (1)Hi Davina, either way would look good, so don't stress about it too much. This is a similar set up to our kitchen and I went with A & B both tiled and haven't regretted it. It looks generous and is more practical. Tiles are best around food prep areas as they are easier to clean than a painted wall ... you think that the splash back is what gets the most dirty but the walls around it get their share of splashes as well. In terms of suggestions for tiles - we went with a white textured subway - boring I know, but classic. Using a darker grey grout to match your bench would look good. Comments (0)So we have finally decided on a kitchen design: Taken inspiration from : this is the floor plan. The dinning area will be moved to next to the steps, in front of the alfresco area. The family room will be in front of the kitchen with another outdoor area next to it. But dilemma not is that we cannot decide on plain cabinet doors or shaker style. The colour of the doors will be Satin White with black knobs matching the black granite sink and charcoal glass splash back. The bench top will most likely be something similar to Calcutta Quartz. I like the modern simplicity of plain doors but i don't want it to look too clinical. I like how shaker style adds a bit of character to the whole area, but i don't want it to look too traditional. What do you think? Any other style suggestions?...See More

8 years agolast modified: 8 years agoIf in the dining area of your kitchen, I would compliment the kitchen cabinets exactly...it's really one space and will feel better coordinated. If you search for desk area in kitchen in houzz photos, you'll see the cabinets match the kitchen and for the desk top, I think I would use the granite as well. It will also be much better for wear and tear.

last yearIt really depends on the look you are going for - do you want something more uniform or are you okay with some variety? We have designed and installed both matching the workstation to the rest of the kitchen and workstations that create contrast. Given that your space is separated from the main part of the kitchen, it really is just your personal preference.
