Need help to facelift the front of my home
Comments (6)There are many options for changing the look of your house. I would replace the windows with larger windows. You can put in tall windows and keep the same width. This doesn't require any structural changes. If you widen the windows you will need a structual analysis. However, if you want to really change the look, you could widen the openings and put in french doors on each side with a new balcony for each, or a balcony across the front. The balcony can be very shallow 6" or deep enough for a chair. It can be cantelevered. I would go for a contemporary look. I found some images to share for inspiration. If you decide to make the changes, I suggest that you hire a local Architect to help you acheive something really nice..........Your house has a lot of potential....See MoreBest bathroom layout for my first house? Comments (14)We have a 900x900 shower and it's plenty big enough. Neither of your proposed layouts looks that great, to be perfectly honest, sorry! In the first layout, you could improve it quite a lot by swapping the toilet and vanity (centre the toilet under the window on the bottom right of the picture if possible), and having the shower door on the other wall (beside the door). Then, you could have a towel rail on the wall beside the door (i.e. behind the door when it's open), which would be accessible from the shower but hidden when the door was open. An 800x1200 shower might be a good size for your space. You'd have to choose a toilet that doesn't protrude too far, plus a narrow vanity. With that layout, you could have a long but narrow wall-hung vanity, with a big mirror covering the wall between the windows, which would make the room feel bigger and would give a good amount of storage. Comments (4)You could install racking for both sides of the room, toys & clothes that aren't being used can go into large plastic containers with lids. The two bikes could be hung from the wall or ceiling. And yes, anything that doesn't need to be there, move it on. There are so many hooks and storage options available that it would be very easy to sort this out and by getting a lot of it off the floor....See MoreHelp spruce up my media room!
Comments (1)My very first thought was to paint the ceiling white. Some colourful artwork would be nice I think. I see you have some blue cushions, so some art with that colour would be helpful to tie it together and also a rug on the floor. What about a lampshade with a shiny chrome stand A tallish plant or two in white or pale coloured pots placed somewhere on the TV wall. I see something else on the back of the lounge suite that looks an interesting colour. Wouldn't hurt to bring that colour into the room too....See Morebjakupi86
