Hi Davina, either way would look good, so don't stress about it too much. This is a similar set up to our kitchen and I went with A & B both tiled and haven't regretted it. It looks generous and is more practical. Tiles are best around food prep areas as they are easier to clean than a painted wall ... you think that the splash back is what gets the most dirty but the walls around it get their share of splashes as well. In terms of suggestions for tiles - we went with a white textured subway - boring I know, but classic. Using a darker grey grout to match your bench would look good. All the best with your renovation!

What about colour , character and personality ? A splashback with a pond and a tree may be great , or look naff , as the Poms would say . Potentially , its on the right track , but look at pic 3 . Gone to sleep yet ? Probably $30k spent on nothingness . Now look at pic 3 , and imagine your splashback . Even if it is ( cringe ) black and white too , it will actually add to it . A bit . I don't like the particular light used in pic 1 , but its got character , you notice it , it is not totally bland . Pic 3 is .

We are doing the following to this kitchen: - Tiles replaced to large light grey concrete tiles (confirmed) - Cabinetry sprayed to white: sea fog OR half sea fog (note: walls are now half sea fog) - Benchtop replaced with white or grey stone Question: do we get white or grey for the bench based on the above?! options are: - grey stone (pictured with floor tile held against it) - plain white stone (not pictured but is plain white stone) - white marble with subtle pale grey marbling (pictured with floor tile held against it) white tiled splashback remains as is!

Just finalising kitchen colours. Soft Matt black velvet prime laminate which will be the back of the kitchen colour Island will be soft Matt surrender. Marble look prime stone which will also be the splashback I'm just worried about the flooring I've chosen it's meadow cortex ? But is the colour too light? Shall I go darker? Wld love to see other vinyl floors with Matt black ? I have grey Carpet in the lounge area all open plan. Don't wanna stuff it up such a huge investment
