Thank you Courtney. The challenge is going to be not scratching the powder coated frame. Since posting I have heard that thick solvent based strippers are best, but I'm going to try and remove as much as possible by lifting the loose paint and carefully scraping and scrubbing as you suggested.

Looking for some advice on what to do with our A-frame house bedroom windows. Currently, there is a curtain track that goes across the window, but it leaves the top of the triangle uncovered - which isn't ideal when the sun comes up at 5am in summer! Any suggestions on what kind of window treatments might work? We don't want to permanently cover the top triangle, so looking for a solution that would allow us to cover (and uncover) the entire window.

Our new holiday home has dated green aluminium windows, with magnolia walls and golden varnished wooden floors. Suggestions on how we might use colour and furnishings to give it now impact welcome.

Are there rules of thumb about size and type?
