Assuming soft close mechanism - which width? 45cm, 60cm or 90cm? I would be interested in hearing the pros and cons from anyone who has experience of the different sizes.
Kitchens have a lot of options so it's good to speak to your kitchen specialist about how you use your kitchen as drawer sizes tend to be influenced by type of item you are storing and which zone. DYNAMIC SPACE are Blum's ideas for practical kitchens, you can check out the zone planner, cabinet solutions and tips in our kitchen ideas section of our website. Think about the items you desire to store in your new kitchen in the following 5 zones and this will help you create a brief for your designer: Consumables, non-consumables, cleaning, preparation and cooking.
Examples:
450 mm wide is a common width for a bench height rubbish bin solution with SERVO-DRIVE uno
I'm just about to settle on and put my order in for my new kitchen which is mainly draws. I didn't worry about widths to much but spent a lot of time considering the depth. I measured a lot of my appliances etc. I then worked out how many deep, medium and shallow draws I needed. I have them put together combinations using one or two internal draws to have faces consistent.
I found what Sophie said about zones very useful and tips like keeping crockery and cutlery draws close to the dishwasher very useful. I am fortunate being a landscape designer that I could use the computer program that I use in my work to draw 3d scaled drawings for my kitchen which has been great.
All the best with your project and if you are in an area that has a Blum showroom I would suggest that a visit would be very worthwhile.
