Powder room redesign

Need some advise on this small bathroom under the stairs. It is dark so planning on repainting the walls a light gray. Floors are Brazilian walnut so thinking that the light walls will be a nice contrast with the dark floors. thinking I need to change the picture over the toilet to have more length. What do you think of the fixtures? I was thinking of swapping them out but not sure what else would work. Any other insight would be appreciated as well. would like the powder room to have a little more character.

Comments (4)Hi pcmom, there are two of us but we would like to preserve the two bedrooms as the idea is to make this a rental property at some point. The apartment is in the middle of the city, so while proper kitchen is a must a large dining table isn't (counter seating is fine). Primarily I was wondering if there is a way to get rid of the "dead" hallway space and add some more closet space or open it up in some way to make it feel spacious. Comments (14)We have that exact sink! And a very small powder room stuck in the 80s. Only difference is our door is on a side wall, and there is no window. We're no where near finished, but just ripping down the pink floral and stripey wall paper has made a huge difference (including revealing the toilet is in fact white, not pale pink). We're going to replace the rather unappealing plastic sink with a tiny ceramic one with new taps, and the old plastic cistern with a new colonial style ceramic one, and new seat (keeping the toilet base as it is in good condition, and classic style). 6 years agoIf you want to add character, maybe an accent wall? Two different complimentary tones of the same color would keep it from being too busy. Or maybe wood moulding on the bottom half of the wall if you want a more classic look
