I'd like to suggest that the most important thing here is more about who is using the room. If It's a child's bedroom use lovely children's curtains - there's so much around and any pattern could pick up the wall and floor colours. If a guest room and not used often I'd suggest a beautiful velvet or good quality Linen and forbid the little ones from going in to that room!!!!!! alternately a blind attached at floor level could be raised or lowered so the view is still there but with privacy from waist height perhaps. Which bench did you go with?

I understand going with the grey since it is an 80's style house. You could also do bright bold colors. I do not know if that is your style. I have attached a quick rendering of the gray scheme you mentioned. I prefer light colors above dark colors. This keeps in theme with the sky and earth. Makes the house seem more grounded. The dark entry also draws your eye to it especially with the light coming from the other side of the house. I have also attached a quick rendering of a blue scheme. It looks like you are on a beach and I thought this would blend in with the surroundings. If that is what you are seeking. Hope this helps.

Depends on which room it is! If you're spending a lot of time in there, a lighter colour is best because with warmer colours, it tends to bring down the roof a bit if that makes sense - what did you end up doing?
