I just recently purchased a corner sofa to fit into our living space to sit more people. what are some nice tips on potential rug colour schemes and designs and ways to make the space look larger?
Id opt for a predominantly light neutral colour for the rug, in a large size, so the area looks lighter and more spacious. A rug with a basic stripe pattern could also help make the room visually look bigger - placed so that at the entry point of the room the stripes run vertically to make the room look longer. You also cant go past mirrors for giving the illusion of a larger room so I would suggest a couple of decent sized mirrors, or a single large mirror, on the mustard colour wall - it will also reflect light back into the room making it a brighter space.
Great ideas, if it was my room I would paint all the walls in a neutral/white , although the entrance wall could now become the yellow wall, not sure what you will be looking at sitting on the lounge.
White timber shutters would make the window look lovely and disguise some of whats outside.
The timber floor colour is quite strong, if you used the black and white rug, horizontally you could use Julies beautiful striped multi coloured 3rd picture and love the black lamp with gold interior to pick up on your new yellow wall
