Comments (1)You have some good ideas but if you're going to sell soon and aren't planning on taking the soffit out, I would just do some minor changes and keep the cabinets (just add a couple cabinets). I wouldn't move the sink but just get a nice stainless steel sink and update faucet. I'd get a stainless stove vent. Remove the wall on the left of the refrigerator but then just do a small pull out pantry on the right of the refrigerator. And, put a cabinet above the refrigerator and make it look built in. A glass backsplash, can lights on the ceiling and pendants above the penninsula. I think a raised counter will make the kitchen/room feel smaller....See MoreWhich blind colour? Please help
Comments (10)Much as I love wood blinds, in your case I would go with the white. I'm afraid the wood blinds would chop up this expanse of windows where as the white would give you a blank slate. You could always add color in roman shades, etc. (Love the flowering trees!)...See MoreCountertop conundrums
Comments (36)~$400 including expedited shipping. My GC just had his regular countertop guy do them, which wasn't great.... he had trouble making clean cuts. If I were going to do it again I would have pressed for someone with expertise to cut them. You can see in the image that the facing is not made of the stone peak, because too much was broken during the cutting to make the mitered edge. I'm a little bummed, but mostly pleased with the surface (which is the important part) thus far....See MoreHelp with 1960s kitchen design
Comments (4)Possible suggestions if sticking to same floor plan and hands firmly glued to the budget Leave the stove where it is. Down the side of the stove securely attach slimline fireproof panelling to the height of the oven's back control panel and the depth of the oven. Floor to ceiling if you prefer then if you wanted to you could change out the door itself, that is put the door handle to the right of the door so it swings back flush with the fireproof panelling. Put the dishwasher under the stainless steel bench top left of the sink. Take all the cabinetry out where the dishwasher is currently housed place the fridge in the centre of that wall building functional cabinetry around it. Get rid of the cupboard at the end of the stainless steel bench replace it with a wheeled butchers block the same width and depth of bench also have hinged sides so you can get extra useable bench top surfacing. You could then wheel it around include brakes on it of course so little hands don't go racing around with it....See MoreKate
