How much does it usually cost to remove wooden floors and replace with carpet?
Comments (3)HI Emily Carpeting bedrooms is only dictated by your budget. The only variable is the price of the carpet, all other costs (installation, smoothedge, underlay) will be the same no matter what you choose. When you say remove wooden floors....do you know what is already installed? If you are only wanting to take the wood from the bedrooms but leave it in hallways etc, then the cost to remove wood planks (laminate?) may be around $20 per m2... A lot depends on how the timber was installed, so I think it's best to get in a professional and get a free quote. Good luck....See MoreNeed help deciding on what colour to stain floor boards
Comments (8)Get the professional sander guys in to repair the living areas and kitchen but don't go too dark with the stain as it will kill the lovely grain in the matai. I'm thinking a couple of tones richer than the timber knots showing in your photo, definitely no yellow tone at all. In NZ stepping on to carpet especially in a kiwi winter is so much nicer than a cold floor board shock!!! A nice area rug for the lounge and you're done....See MoreNZ hardwood floor - concrete patch

Have flaws in laminate performance appeared over time that has reduced its popularity ? The new hybrid planks I’ve seen look less convincing as wood....See MoreAustere Hamlet
