Comments (4)I think I would start with the furniture, in terms of space, given that you said it was not a large room. I would check sizing of the furniture and room, to see what would work with the bed, a couch, the wardrobe and any other furniture that you'll be using in the room. From there, I think I would start with the bedding possibly as a starting point for the color scheme. Perhaps you could find bedding with a print you like in the colors that you like, and take from there, the colors for the rest of the room. As well as a sofa bed, another option might be a daybed that could also do double duty as a bed or seating. I think painting the furniture a bring pink would work well against the white. And then take it from there with whatever you've decided to do in terms of the overall color scheme with pink/white/silver/black or pink/orange and white for the walls, perhaps something like a gray as well with the second color combo. Good luck!...See MoreMale Bedroom ideas!
Comments (2)How about flanking the window will billy bookcases? Paint over the green wall an off white and just pick a color you love for the bed wall. A stylish chair for your desk and maybe "industrial" looking bedside lamps will "man" it up. :) Plus, get a cooler looking desk chair...in a color that you paint the bed wall....See MoreRedecorating bedroom
Comments (9)Hi Calypso. We would need a lot more information to be really useful, but to start with I suggest you look at as many rooms as you can to see what you like. I've put, for example, two very different ways of using it below. What's your style? Crisp, romantic, girly, quirky? Maybe start with whichever of these two rooms you like best and then think about what you would like to change in the room to bring it closer to being right for you. Then look for other styles of rooms, either on Houzz or on Google images or in magazines. Work out what makes you say, "Yes, please!" Then determine what furniture you have that needs to stay -- if the colour's not right, can you paint it? If you could give us a couple of pics of the room as it is now, with that information, and an idea of what kind of room you dream of, you could get more useful help. In my opinion, a reader needs good bedside lights and a well-lit reading chair, as well, of course, as bookshelves -- and there are all kinds of great ways to fit shelves into a room. Do you also need homework space in your bedroom? There are all sorts of super ways to accessorise your room to reflect your love of reading, too. But first things first .......See MoreKate
