Exterior colour - should i go moody blue?
Comments (13)To answer your question I would paint the body of the house blue, all trim white, and then the "fringe" which I think ties into your porch decking, I would paint it the gray. It is a good "grounding" color for your home. Sherwin Williams has a cool web tool. Take a pic of your house and load it onto their site. You can "color" away on your house. When I painted my house for the first time, I did not want the garage door to stick out, wanted it to blend into the house. Everyone said it would look weird, needed to be painted the same as the trim. Used the Sherwin Williams site and realized want I visioned looked good. I have neighbors of dubious design skills! Ha! Comments (1)I have a similar sized ensuite in my own house and would definitely not put two doors in it. You will probably find that a fixed glass panel to half the width and a glass door the other half would work fine. Alternatively you can get a sliding glass door (again 50/50) if you like the look of them as they do save on space....See MoreScullery combined with Laundry - OR keep Seperate & have small Pantry
Comments (5)If you have lived in England...with washing machine in the kitchen as a normal everyday thing, then I don't think people mind, they probably LOVE having a laundry ! Our front door is basically the laundry sliding door, so I'm putting our laundry into a cupboard so it's hidden, I think it put people off buying the house...entering via laundry. (10 weeks on market, we were the only offer) A pantry ' in a laundry' or vice versa doesn't worry me. My last laundry was in the garage. And big sep pantry in kitchen, I would rather a pantry with machine..than no pantry. A pantry to me is big kudos...See MoreFinding internal door keys for an old villa
Comments (0)We have an old villa built in 1916. Most internal doors are original and have locks with escutcheons. Quite ornate. The keys have been lost though and didn't come to us when we moved in a year ago. We're looking to source keys. I've borrowed sets from our local Mitre 10 but have struck out with anything fitting. They appear to be old long Legge style keys, at least they fit in the locks. Any ideas how we could progress further? I have photos if that helps. The lock itself says Patent above the lock and below says Reversible Bolt....See MoreSonia
