I like the current colour and the contrast it has to the walls as it highlights the structure and also contrasts to the surrounding greenery.
Colours are personal. I’d keep to a similar strength of colour and tone. To still achieve the contrast. So as long as forest green does that and you like it go for it.

Thanks Robandlyn, I think you are right. The green is very 90's. Charcoal may be the way to go.

What colour is the porch step I can see. Would that work or woodland Grey which has a green base

Love the lush tropical grounds too , but I'd go mid to bright orange for the trims -- probably white and cream stripes on the shades though . There already seems to be that slight orange hint in the walls already , and of course the terracota orange paths . I'm not sure about a swing , but an orange and white wooden seat would really pop , or a couple of orange cloth chairs and a crisp white table or similar .

I'd do a dark navy. Less predictable than charcoal but also likely to go with your house colour.

First, I would try painting the awning the same shade a the house colour to tone down its dominance. For me it is like a far too bushy eyebrow. Then see how the gutters’ colour sits in the landscape. Then start adding highlights, including front door and its screen surrounds, then planting. The need is for more contrast and interest. Maybe some big colourful pots on the right had side of patio. You have a magnificent tropical oasis. It has great possibilities to be styled as a contemporary tropical Asian house and garden where the house blends into the tropical garden.

The black trim makes it look more modern, but I think it will date really fast and then you'd have to get back up and re-do it. What about a crisp snow white matte finish? It would sort of not make a feature of it, and the gardens and the landscaping would stand out more.

I agree with fianou, above. A crisp white would tie in with the window framing and would be a nice lift. I don’t mind the charcoal, buts it’s a bit like heavy eyeliner, especially as the roof is a light colour. It looks to be a tropical climate so light colours make everything feel cooler.
