Trying to decide on Shaker cupboards in white matt or modern cupboards in white gloss? Something that will last and remain in style over the years. Any suggestions?
Since shaker style cabinets and furniture has been around since the late 1700's. !!!!! Then I would say, that both will be in favour for a good many more years.
I think it depends partly on the rest of the house too. If it looks like it 'fits' either will work. If it looks discordant with the rest of the house it risks looking like a specific era reno.
I wouldn't do gloss as that's rather dated. The profile is less of an issue and more down to personal preference. Shaker isn't my cup of tea as I find it a bit twee but I think it can look stunning in many situations
