have you considered moving the kitchen into the sunroom and use the narrow section of the sunroom as the pantry?

Are the sunroom walls structural or more of an enclosed patio?
Is the back wall of the kitchen the back wall of the house?

Hi Gayle, yes, the family room will stay as is. It is more on a sunroom but the roof of the house is attached.
The back wall of the kitchen is the back wall of the house.
We are planning to extend our into the courtyard and further back into the backyard by another 2-3 meters

More of a patio sunroom I mean…

it's still not clear what will happen with the original sunroom and which direction you wish to extend?? and have you considered using the original sunroom, family room or living area for a new kitchen instead of the original kitchen space?

Hello Hops 66, Cannot help without a few questions first: where is north? Where do you use space outside the most? Do you use both the living and family spaces? could you pop a few pix of the house here so we have an idea of how it works. what sort of cooking do you do or like to do? How many what age live in the house? How often do you shop?.... sorry but it all will help to visualize it and get it right for you....and IT CAN BE DONE!!! Cheers Margot
