Anne Mayne 3 August Lounge Room wall problem

I have been using a screen behind the couch to make up a short wall so that I can place my couch. This is making the room very dark. Should I have a wall built to fill the gap? Any suggestions welcomed.

    Put a console table there. Cheaper

    No haha there is a hallway and entry from a different direction
