which layout for open plan area

So we have 2 ideas for the back of the house open plan kitchen living dining area, need some input as to which flows better. Our block faces east, so north is on the side where alfresco will be. Kitchen to be on south side.
Option 1 has a bigger family area (7mx5m) and a bigger alfresco (5x7)
Option 2 has a slightly larger kitchen space, but a skinnier alfresco (3.5mx7m). Also, option 1 would have the dining on the northern aspect, option 2 would have living on northern side (we are concerned where the tv would go best if living on north side). Would appreciate any advice! Thanks in advance!

we need to see a plan of the whole existing house to may any realistic suggestions and a Google view of the roof will also help

You have used graph paper but not drawn the areas using the squares in the graph paper. For example, one square is 500mm. So therefore your drawings are not to scale with the sizes shown. But I get your intent.

I would choose the drawing with the long alfresco. With living on the north side. You can have a wonderful large rectangle dining suite in the alfresco with lounge chairs as well. The north side of alfresco to be a gable. Tv would go on the west wall.

Unfortunately no. We are in the very early stages - have only just had first meeting with architect. Comment from people who have worked with galley, island peninsula, or L-shaped with work top in middle would be helpful, plus whether a walk in pantry is valuable. For most of the time, there will only be two of us at home, but we both like to cook, we are fairly sociable, and our family like to get involved when they are around. The kitchen will part of the main living area, and not closed off. Hope that helps.

Because it's a slider that opens on the left, you should have window treatments that pull open to the right. If you choose curtains that aren't thick or bulky and position the rod so when they're fully opened, they stop just inside of edge of the trim, that should give you a couple inches of space between the trim and the drawers. That is a really small space,I think maybe an apartment size sofa would help you get the look you need and a smaller table or even removing the table and using two bar stools
