Like your space and choice of green. Like the green in the kitchen you referred us to. Looks a little darker or less yellow than one you did with Photoshop? You have the same issue as many of us, for one reason or another we end up trying to blend two disparate styles. The couches say man's room, formal, brown wood to me. Your room, kitchen and fireplace say much lighter in colors , style and spirit! If you try to blend the two you will end up with neither. Your purchases to go with the couches will just add to things pushing you in a direction you don't appear to want to go! I'd suggest you find some sofa covers, or even bed coverlets if you can't get covers to put over the couches. I like the colors in the fireplace. Please tell us more about what styles you like.

I love it. My only concern is this: this will be our only group sitting area. We don't have a family room or any other joint "comfy" rooms in the house. This was why I was concerned the barcelonas would be to clinical. But I like this couch, it looks like it could be very comfy. My last household purchase was new sliding doors to the outside from my dining room. This then led to the building of a deck, new railing on said deck and existing terrace, new blinds as the old window length curtains no longer did the trick, then the paving stone path to the deck from the garden gate, some new planting to accommodate that, AND outdoor lighting for what has now become an alternative entrance to the house! Oh, and painting as well. So I can liken my last purchase to a bit of a triffid - it kept growing! But SO worth it! It has added another room/space to my house, increased light and warmth, added value and created a more welcoming entrance than before. Love it!

Personally I wouldn't hang black curtains with this colour lounge suite. I would also take out everything that you don't need in the room as it is too cluttered. I actually like the wood as it matches like Bernadette said. I see that you are adding pops of red in the room. How about a picture on the wall with that colour in it, as the walls are quite bare. Are you able to remove the computer desk and chair? I love big mirrors in a lounge room too . . . The programs that I have watched in NZ, ask 'what is the hero in the room?' So I think you need to ask yourself this and work with that, going forward. . . . The only comment I can make on the skateboard is I think it is placed too high on the wall.
