Keeping some character - glass tile in bungalow bathroom renovation?
Comments (9)If you are looking to keep the "period" look, then I say no. My place is from 1916 & had a gross 1980's reno. I ripped out all the ugly vinyl floor & cheap Sears sink & went with a black hex floor, white subway, dark grey grout on both. Toilet & tub were original, but I got an old "Standard" wall mount sink with chrome legs & towel bars & an antique medicine chest, light fixtures & glass shelving & towel bar off Ebay. My total job...about $5k. Help my tile guy is my neighbor, but those 10, 15, 20k bathrooms were out of the question....See Moreideas for lights for family room/play room in bungalow
Comments (8)Despite previous opinions I have to say this - DON'T GET DOWN LIGHTS!!!! We had them in our previous home. They were constantly blowing no matter what kind of bulb used. The casings kept breaking. This meant we couldn't just change the bulb ourselves. It drove me mental. They spotlight certain parts of a room instead of lighting the whole room so when one of our main "culprits" kept blowing in the kitchen, I had no lighting above that bench until we could get an electrician in. More than one electrician told us they are a serious fire hazard. I will never have them again!...See MoreCan you get a good finish painting tiles?

Comments (5)I understand going with the grey since it is an 80's style house. You could also do bright bold colors. I do not know if that is your style. I have attached a quick rendering of the gray scheme you mentioned. I prefer light colors above dark colors. This keeps in theme with the sky and earth. Makes the house seem more grounded. The dark entry also draws your eye to it especially with the light coming from the other side of the house. I have also attached a quick rendering of a blue scheme. It looks like you are on a beach and I thought this would blend in with the surroundings. If that is what you are seeking. Hope this helps....See MoreUser
