two pack clear cost repair

I have a new table coated in clear satin finish two pack. It was damaged in transit, taking a chip out of the table into the wood grain. Can I use two pack by dabbing into the chip to protect the timber fibres? Would this work?

2 pac can be repaired with suitable paint , that’s it’s advantage
