Small bathroom renovation

We currently have a small bathroom with vanity, shower and kids bath (1.2 or 1.3m). We're renovating and hoping to include a shower over bath, toilet and vanity. We will be changing the door to a sliding door to accommodate this. From a plumbing perspective the toilet sewage will have to go out the wall with the window. It is too challenging and costly otherwise.
I've included a photo of our current bathroom, and then a sketch of an option. I would prefer if the toilet were on the back wall to avoid a skew trap toilet, but then the toilet would be the focal point when you walk in, which is not nice.
I know it may be tight, but I'd love some suggestions on the layout or any other options. I had thought about the shower on the left wall but the tapware will be very difficult to fit with the window there and won't look very good.

Your current plan doesn’t allow for the shower plumbing in the wall and the cavity slider.

Thank you, I'll rectify. There's a cupboard on the other side of that wall so we may encroach on that space rather than take up more room in the bathroom. Any comment on the layout or other options?

I understand your need to bathe your little people but I would not change a thing in this bathroom. What I would do is find a bathing station that could be placed in the shower temporarily until your little folks are no longer little, By the way, bath tubs regardless of the lovely ads that show sumptuous bathing areas as components of enormous and well appointed master bedrooms, are passe. A great idea 150 years ago and for the most part the only reasonable and effective solution. Today, bathing in most homes happens very infrequently and adding a tub to your space would be the tail wagging the dog. Keep the nice space you have created and add a temporary bathing solution. Hey guys - im wanting to renovate my small bathroom, its around 56 sqft, replacement of standard shower over bath, single vanity and toilet, tile floor and tiled wall just within shower/bath alcove. No changes to plumbing location. Have a quote for $9500 just for labour and rough materials (I have purchased all fixtures, finishings etc for a total of 3k), is that labour quote reasonable? Nothing is tricky, ie; standard stacked tile pattern etc. Im in Oakland, CA, so I imagine that effects the price. Any advice would be massivly appreciated! Thanks!

Maybe look beyond the footprint of existing bathroom. We renovated a bathroom where we were able to have a seperate large shower and keep the bath by incorporating a built in cupboard in a bedroom room adjacent to the bathroom. New Free standing storage in that room has resolved any issue with the loss of the built in.

In my opinion, if this is the best option recommended by the plumbing tradesman, it should be a reliable choice. Additionally, since the toilet is located behind the vanity, it may not be the focal point of the bathroom. However, if you have enough space (indicated in the red box below), consider consulting with a contractor to build a wall for an in-wall toilet. This could enhance the bathroom's appearance while also making it seem more spacious. As for the shower over the bath installation, it's an excellent solution for a compact bathroom, ensuring that it can serve your daily living needs even if space is limited. To keep your bathroom clean and free from water spills and droplets, consider installing a Bathtub Screen Panel. I would love to see the photos once your project is done.
