Fridges normally sit 100 mm in front of cabinets due to shelves and insulation in doors requiring clearance to get the doors open to pull out baskets or shelves. Unless you can recess the fridge and have extra side clearances for the door opening requirements not to mention ventilation, it makes it tricky to integrate fridges. Then there is also less sold so higher cost. It is also costly to replace fridge down the track.

I would be struggling if a fridge costs the same price as a small car as well. End result is the preservation of food inside the fridge and freezer. Go for function over form for a fridge, no matter how “high end” your renovations are. Spend the money on good cabinetry to surround your normal priced fridge.

I have just renovated and went with the Liebherr 60cm single door integrated fridge and matching 60cm single door side by side integrated freezer which should be less than half the cost of the subzero and I am really happy with them. My parents have the more expensive French top (integrated freezer drawer below) Liebherr fridge/freezer but it has a lot less capacity for freezer items and less fridge space (though wider fridge space). A suggestion for both the fridges and the ovens is perhaps take some of your most used sizes of platters and also oven pans/trays into Winnings and have a play with what fits. I found that the actual usable capacity of the appliances can actually be quite different to the exterior measurements. For example, my Miele combi steam oven (the top of the line xxl plumbed one dgc 7865xxl) is actually very functionally/usably spacious (esp now that I paid the extra for more flexiclip/telescopic runners and oven trays and racks which was painful given the oven was so expensive). I also have a Lacanche stove with 2.5 extra ovens and it is handy to be able to cook multiple things and have different temps or timings etc and especially when baking. Just make sure that your plans have allowed for the plumbing for your freezer icemaker and for fresh water and waste water if you are having a plumbed steam or combi steam oven.

we didn't choose an integrated fridge but are very happy with the decision to make our base cabinets 10cms deeper for more storage and counter space and that coincidentally helps overcome the mismatch between depth of fridges and cabinets

As per sc42355 I would go with Liebherr 60cm single door integrated fridge and matching 60cm single door side by side integrated freezer if you have the space. I would have expected to pay more for my fridge and freezer over ovens. Fridges are very impotant work horses
