New open plan kitchen colour help
Comments (1)Teal sounds beautiful for your splashback, I love vibrant and bright colours in the kitchen - you never see them enough! I think your worries are right as well, dark carpet and a dark bench would be too much darkness - a lighter benchtop would work well with the other colours! Marble is a classic for benchtops, but depending on how you did the wood, it wouldn't look fake at all! Comments (0)Help! we are redecorating our 1980’s architecturally designed home. A new kitchen is going in - modern - white with a black stone top. The dining and living rooms have been opened up with a wall removal. some of the walls will be painted but the stairway and wall leading into the dining room will be difficult to achieve a paint finish. How can we achieve a modern look with some white painted walls and one very long wall will need wallpaper? Any ideas? My reason; you get a much greater feeling of open plan by having the dining and lounge on the North/South plane. I like the large WIP in this one - on paper at least. The second plan somehow feels wrong. I personally don't like the idea of having the breakfast bar being located in the lounge. If it were me though, I would ask for a 3D CAD plan of both kitchens [to walk through on the computer] before making up my mind on which one to opt for as it gives you a much clearer vision of what the finished kitchen will be like rather than looking at a flat plan....See MoreLiving Room Interior Design & furniture setup ideas
Comments (2)Hello Rispah. Depending on how much seating you need, I'm assuming 2 x 3 seater sofas would be enough. I would consider the below layout. This option keeps the traffic from in and out of the exterior doors completely clear and creates a nice intimate setting for the living but still being open to the kitchen for social interaction. Alternatively you could have the sofas facing each other with one sofa backing to the kitchen which would be a more formal approach and encourage the view from outside those doors. If this option suited your lifestyle better, a slim styled sideboard is a great way to style the back view of your sofa....See MoreRamya
