I’m not a fan of this diagonal wall. Currently the room is used as a playroom and lounge room with tv on the diagonal. Is it crazy to try and build in cabinetry to straighten the diagonal? Anyone does this.
Not a crazy idea. The issue I'd suggest is the deep acute corner angle. Rather than completely covering up maybe consider building in with cabinery for say only half the wall run starting from the deep corner, then leaving the other half and you'll end up with an obtuse / gentle angled wall running back to the windows which is much more easily managed and less aggressive visually, as well as retaining more space in the room. I often use gentle splays in designs and they can work very well if implemented for a purpose
How is the furniture set out ? You say a dual use -- playroom and lounge ? How about just build a larger cupboard ( maybe 1.2 x 1.2 ? ) in that acute corner ( a cute cabinet in a cute corner haha ? ) . That can house toys and games and the like , but also take some of the sharpness away , but then have your TV mounted with 1 end against that cabinet , maybe 250mm out fromthe existing wall -- the other end of the TV against that existing 'sloping' wall . That angles the TV back so it is pointing towards the double doors into the living area -- that will disguise some of the angles , but also get the TV to take some of the 'edge' off the room .
