Comments (56)@kmkane... The "old thread" comments, at least from ME... aren't for any other reason than letting some contributors know, that the advice they might believe they are giving, may be moot. I know that when I 1st became involved on Houzz, I was glad when someone indicated that I may be addressing a question which had probably been answered months (if not years) ago. Helped me "learn" to check the original posting date before blathering on about an issue someone was no longer interested in....See MoreWe need some privacy!
Comments (30)Ozbern: we had a similar dilemma, lovely backyard and then they started tearing down bungalows and building four story townhouses all around us. I built a single depth pergola along the back property line, the beauty of this is not only the privacy, but it brings the scale of the yard down to make it feel more intimate when we are outside. We also added a 10' x 10' (little over three meters) pergola right up against the house where we had a wall of windows. Will try to find that photo too. We have coral vine now growing in it. Dies in winter, comes back in spring. You can always do more contemporary details if this is too casual....See MoreCharcoal coloured carpet?
Comments (12)I have gray carpet in my bedrooms. It is a flat weave from Karastan with a tone on tone stripe. I think it is the most forgiving carpet I've ever had. I do have an Irobot (recent purchase) because of the vacuuming. I have a long haired blond tabby that sheds like crazy, so I have to vacuum all the time. Of course, he sheds on the hardwood too. If I didn't have the cat, the vacuuming would just be maintenance....See MoreWhat is the focal point in my dining room?
Comments (14)Everyone has some valid points and so I would also recommend moving the clock to the kitchen wall and place the wall unit under the mirror. Centre with the table with the additions of some artwork each side if the clock with wooden frames to match the clock. Find a low piece of glass or pottery or a runner to tie in the grey shades. I presume u have a grey lounge suite. Change the lighting as to what was suggested by People Space ARchitects....See Moredreamer
