I don't really like window over bed... I also think it's bad luck in feng shui. I am thinking a better have 2 windows on each side of the bed... however, I can't really find any photo to see if it would look good or sille.
Functionality is important as well as look internal and external. Plus window coverings. I am not a fan of over bed as can be harder to open particularly if you want curtains covering them.
Is the only possible orientation of the bed against the external wall?
What sort of bedside tables do you want?
Is the external wall somewhere where your choice will make a big difference to the external appearance of the house?
Windows on either side can look good but I think you need to plan more in advance if doing that rather than a window on another wall. For example if you need a lot of bedside storage and powerpoints maybe shorter windows above the storage is best but full-length works with simple tables and pendant lights. You need to think about the size of the bed in case you want to get a larger bed in future or for resale value.
