What is standard sizes? What are the actual sizes of the bedrooms? Having 3550 ceilings through the home will make difficult to heat and cool home. Where is the home located?

You should put ceiling fans in to blow hot air back down in winter . Is it a commercial space being refitted? Why are the ceilings so high if new build?

Are the rooms already plastered and painted?

Hi Kate, so sorry for the late reply. The rooms have no plastered and painted yet . The Furniture plan is out, we just need to confirm with the contractor how height do we want to lower down the ceiling.

As you haven’t said which city or state the home is in….im just assuming moderate weather location. Keep all the living, dining, kitchen at 3550mm and make the bedrooms 3000m with ceiling fans. But more information is needed. Is the ceiling flat, or gable or skillion. An actual plan of home would be good to give a better suggestion for the home and not a general answer.

And in Singapore you would probably have air conditioning in every room. So height of ceiling doesn’t matter. It doesn’t get cold, so no need for heating.

Yes, every rooms will have ceiling fans and air conditioners. ( due to hot weather) My concern is that the built-in cabinet may not look very nice if it’s made too high. I wanted to extend it up to the ceiling to make it look neater and prevent dust collection. However, my contractor mentioned that if the living/dining room ceiling is high and the bedrooms’ ceilings are low, it might look odd when entering the rooms due to the different height levels. Is that true?

Yes, I agree with your builder. You have the ceiling height, so embrace that. The built in cabinets will be fine.

You could bulkhead out above the cabinets. Effectively drop ceiling only above cupboards if you prefer. I’d prob make cabinets at least 2400-2700 high
