You can search the WA health regulations for bathrooms and laundries. And also the Australian building codes. That will give you the source information for your answer.
Andrew, as you can see with the WA regulations they are so old, hence the word used “copper”. Which was a round vessel with a fire underneath for washing clothing. Please refer this article, which is current. My understanding is you can have laundry facilities in the kitchen room, BUT, they must be separate from the kitchen work spaces in their own space. You mentioned you were doing a euro laundry in a cupboard. I would argue the very old legislation and work with authorities to allow. 2024 kitchens are not the kitchens from the early to mid last century. https://www.propertycouncil.com.au/submissions/western-australian-health-act-1911-health-act-laundries-and-bathrooms-regulations
i'm very interested to know why you need the laundry to be in the kitchen? maybe if you explain what you need and post your whole house plan HOUZZERS may be able to suggest a range of other options
So the current plan is to add a third bedroom and redo the kitchen bathroom and laundry, with some better flow. This is a 1960 brick house with limestone footings. The current laundry, bathroom, toilet and lounge are on concrete pad and the rest is jarrah floor.
